The program includes an orientation session, on-track instruction, photo opportunities and driver’s Q&A, before you sliding through the car window and on to the track for two to four hours of fun-filled driving in a professional Nextel Cup style stock car. You’ll be suited up in a regulation helmet, neck guard and drivers suit for your safety. Please remember to bring closed toed shoes!

And after the closing ceremony, when you’ll receive your lap-time sheet and graduation certificate, you’ll be a rookie no more!

Your Rookie Experience includes:

Your unforgettable dolphin encounter takes place at Dolphin Plus, giving you the rare opportunity to interact one-on-one with these magnificent creatures in a natural seawater lagoon. Dolphin Plus is a marine mammal research and education facility that’s committed to the conservation and protection of marine mammals through education, research and environmental awareness. A flotation vest is provided (mandatory for all participants).

Your dolphin swim lasts around 1.5 hours, and includes an educational briefing where you will learn about dolphins in general, as well as about the individual dolphins you will swim with. Interaction time lasts about 20 minutes, and you can expect foot pushes, dorsal tows, water fights, kisses, handshakes and other friendly dolphin behavior.

Also included on your overnight tour is the wildest airboat ride in Florida, with plenty of 180-degree and 360-degree spins. You may come face-to-face with local ‘gators so keep your hands inside the boat! You’ll also discover a world of reptiles at an alligator and snake-handling show at the Everglades Alligator Farm, which will include some great photo opportunities.

This day-long excursion includes the KSC Tour of NASA’s Launch Headquarters, two IMAX films, all shows and exhibits, and a visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

On your tour, you’ll stop at the four-story LC-39 observation gantry, which offers a bird’s-eye view of the space shuttle launch pads. The second tour stop is the acclaimed Apollo/Saturn V Center, where you’ll walk beneath a massive Saturn V rocket, relive Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon, and hear the thunderous rumble of a Saturn V moon rocket liftoff. Later, take a trip to the International Space Station Center, where you’ll see real parts of the space station being readied for launch.

The day continues with IMAX® movie screenings of the new Magnificent Desolation, a 3D documentation of moon exploration, and Space Station 3D, which takes you on a virtual trip to the International Space Station. NASA Up Close Tour: Led by a trained space expert, this tour will give you an insider’s view of the space program, from launch preparation to liftoff. The tour includes up-close views of space shuttle launch pads, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the massive Crawler-Transporter, which moves the shuttle from the VAB to its launch pad, and the Shuttle Landing Facility. The tour stops between the shuttle launch pads, where you’ll get a great close-up photo opportunity. It also stops on the exciting NASA Causeway, where you’ll be surrounded by numerous rocket launch pads, and can see the solid rocket booster recovery ships as well as native wildlife.
